General Info

Tucked inside Garth Park on Launton Rd in Bicester, Garth Park Kitchen feels like the kind of café you stumble upon during a relaxed walk and end up staying far longer than planned. Surrounded by the greenery of the park, the setting instantly creates a calm, welcoming atmosphere. Locals often drop by after a stroll, and it’s easy to see why the place has become a familiar stop for breakfast, brunch, and light afternoon treats.

From the moment you glance at the menu, the café’s focus on classic comfort food becomes clear. The English Breakfast is a popular choice and sets the tone for the day. Served hot and hearty, it’s the sort of breakfast that feels satisfying without being overly heavy. Alongside it, the Bacon Hash Brown delivers a crispy, savory bite that pairs perfectly with a morning coffee. The kitchen keeps things simple yet well balanced, which makes each dish feel thoughtfully prepared rather than overly complicated.

One item that keeps appearing in reviews is the Eggs Benedict. It’s a familiar favorite, but here it feels particularly well executed. The combination of poached eggs and rich sauce over toasted bread creates that classic brunch experience people look for when visiting a café. Meanwhile, the relaxed park-side setting makes it easy to slow down and actually enjoy the meal instead of rushing through it.

Later in the day, Afternoon Tea becomes a highlight. Sitting with a warm drink while overlooking the park gives the experience a distinctly British charm. It’s the sort of quiet moment that makes this location stand out from busier dining spots in town. Visitors often mention how easy it is to settle into the atmosphere and enjoy the surroundings while sharing tea and light bites.

The service style is casual and accommodating. Guests can comfortably dine in, and the café also offers beer and hard liquor for those looking for something a little stronger than tea or coffee. Payments are convenient with debit cards accepted, which keeps the experience smooth and hassle-free. Another small detail that regular visitors appreciate is that dogs are allowed, making it a friendly stop for people exploring the park with their pets.

Because of its setting inside Garth Park, the location naturally draws a mix of families, walkers, and visitors exploring Bicester. The café’s approachable menu, relaxed service, and comfortable seating make it a reliable place to pause, enjoy a meal, and take in the peaceful surroundings. Whether stopping by for breakfast, brunch, or a slow afternoon tea, the experience at Garth Park Kitchen feels refreshingly simple and genuinely enjoyable.

What customers say?

“ Had a lovely English breakfast. The variety in food is great and high quality - all for a good price. The staff were lovely and friendly. It is very dog friendly and is perfect for a bite to eat before a nice dog walk around the park. ”

“ Had a delicious sweet potato soup, lamb kofta, and chocol brownies, really tasty. Friendly service, but very busy so a bit of a wait, but lovely view over the beautiful park, so not a problem. Will be returning to try the rest of their menu. ”

“ Delightful breakfast. Super tasty and reasonably priced. The Chai Latte was amazing! They kindly made the mushrooms on toast vegan for me. ADDITION 02/11/2024: Our group of 11 went to the first pop-up evening restaurant last night. We had a mix of teenagers, vegans, vegetarians, meat, and fish lovers, so you can imagine how difficult it could be to please everyone, yet the Garth Park Kitchen (Savoir Fare) team pulled it off. Everyone in our party complimented each of their dishes (even the teens!). The portion sizes were perfect and to top it off, the wines were excellent! (Think the original The Muddy Duck) I highly recommend attending one of the pop-ups, I know we will all return. ”

“ Delicious food and wonderful service! We had the roast chicken sandwich and steak sandwich with fries- all delicious and served by a very friendly and enthusiastic staff member! 10/10 would recommend to others for a lovely lunch ”

“ Always a great, friendly cafe in a nice park, with excellent bakes. Recently under new management with a new menu. The breakfasts and cakes are delicious, and now doing a really excellent Sunday lunch. Nicely cooked high-end roasts (lovely rare beef, crispy crackling on the pork), fantastic sides, crisp, fluffy potatoes, flavourful veg, creamy cauliflower cheese etc., and a good range of drinks and cocktails. Prices very reasonable given the quality, and about what you’d expect to pay in a pub, but likely better. A lovely spot to spend a sunny afternoon, and great for children. ”

“ I have been coming here every since it opened; and I have yet to be let down. The service is amazing and the family running the business is so lovely. Their menu consists of many gluten free alternatives. In summer they have a wide variety of ice cream, and since Savoir Faire is situated besides a spacious play park, it is perfect to bring children too. Also they allow dogs inside which is perfect if you want to enjoy sitting in, surrounded by the welcoming atmosphere. All year round they have a great selection of food and drinks. It really is the heart of Garth Park. ”

“ A Hidden Gem for Sunday Lunch! We recently discovered that this spot now serves Sunday lunch, and wow—what a treat! The food was absolutely delicious, with a comforting, homely touch that reminded us of a meal at grandma’s, but elevated with incredible flavor. We tried the 6-hour porchetta with all the trimmings, including the standout cauliflower rarebit. The roast potatoes were perfectly crispy and absolutely divine! Every bite was packed with flavor and care, making it one of the most satisfying Sunday lunches we’ve had in a long time. If you haven’t visited yet, you’re seriously missing out. This isn’t just a café—it’s an experience! Delicious food at a reasonable price. Highly recommend checking it out! ”

“ I had the chicken for lunch and it was a massive portion, cooked very well. The staff were all very friendly and checked to see if our food was ok/needed anything. It's inside a park and dog-friendly which is a massive plus. There's a few parking spaces and luckily we got a space but on a weekend I think it would be very busy so will have to try and find parking elsewhere. ”
